Exaltation
Richard Collyer Chapter No. 4905 meets 3 times a year at The Normandy Centre, Denne Road, Horsham RH12 1JF
Attached to the Richard Collyer Lodge, we are proud of our link to the former Collyer’s Grammar School and the Richard Collyer College.
History
It was not until 1958 that members of the Richard Collyer Lodge who had been exalted into the Royal Arch (and those who wished to be exalted) were to have the opportunity of assembling under a Chapter exclusively for Old Collyerians. The main reason for the founding of the Chapter was clearly to provide a dedicated “home” for Old Collyerians (as with the Lodge, Old Collyerian Royal Arch Masons would hitherto have had to pursue their interest through the March and Darnley Chapter or some other Chapter of their choice). A subsidiary reason might have been to create opportunities for Companions to have another chance at or to accelerate their chances of gaining office if the waiting time in their own Chapter appeared unreasonably long. read more…

What is the Royal Arch?

The Supreme Order of the Royal Arch of Jerusalem, usually referred to as “Chapter”, is the final part of the four-stage journey from Initiation to Exaltation that is known as ‘Pure Antient Masonry’
It is governed by the Supreme Grand Chapter of England
Who Can Join?

Membership is open to every Master Mason of at least four weeks standing, and we encourage all masons to consider this important stage. It is a friendly, colourful and rewarding experience.

How Do I join?

Your first point of contact should be your lodge Royal Arch Representative (In Sussex they may distinguish themselves by wearing the red provincial tie in lodge meetings). They will work with you to find a chapter that suits you.
You can also approach chapters directly or through the Provincial Grand Chapter (see below)
