The 77th Annual FSL Festival was held at the Holiday Inn Dover under the banner of the Pharos Lodge 6967 in the Province of East Kent. Pharos is the school lodge for Dover Grammar School for Boys. The Worshipful Master was accompanied by his Junior Warden and they both enjoyed an excellent meeting and festive board.

The FSL annual business meeting took place at Dover Grammar School for Boys in the school hall. The school is situated high above the town and commands excellent views of the castle and harbour.  It was chaired by RW WBro Mark Constant PGM who spoke about the Federation’s aim to organise more events for FSL members during the year. The ‘Travelling Gavel’ was awarded to Old Oakhamians Lodge for having the most Brethren in attendance.

Pharos Lodge opened in due form and having been called from labour to refreshment; the brethren heard a talk by WBro Graham Chisnell APGM on ‘The Indissoluble links between education and masonry.’

During the afternoon, wives and partners were treated to a tour of Crabble Corn Mill followed by an afternoon tea with entertainment provided by a ukulele band.

Having returned to the Holiday Inn, a reception was held in a superb wedding marquee which was followed by the festival banquet.  Sir David Wootton, the Second Grand Principal was in attendance.

WBro Nick Parsons, Worshipful Master
